Status of Norman klife
At this point in time we do not have the funding necessary to operate with full-time staff members. This summer will be spent talking to families in order to gauge interest in the continuation of this chapter in the future. By August 13th, 2018 we must have 6-7 families join our Board of Directors responsible for raising the funds necessary in order to operate. If we have these families in place, August through July will be spent raising awareness, fundraising and hiring two new full-time staff members in order to kick off in August of 2019. A Regional Director from the KLIFE National Office will continue to work closely with the board members in order to oversee this process. If you would like more information on how to join the board please contact Taylor Clark at email@example.com.
what is klife
KLIFE is a non-profit youth ministry focused on discipleship. Our mission is to point students to Jesus so they can know Him, love Him, walk in surrender to Him, and be equipped to point others to Him also. In KLIFE, kids learn that living a life for Jesus is the single greatest decision they can ever make and that He is the one and only source of abundant life.
MODEL OF MINISTRY
Through weekly and monthly gatherings we invite kids to be apart of the ministry and have a ton of fun.
Our goal is to get kids plugged into small groups led by college students and young adults. Small groups are split up by grade and gender.
All of our small group leaders pursue their kids 1on1 in order to provide authentic discipleship.
philosophy of ministry
The secret to a successful youth ministry is not organization. The secret is not talent. The secret is not advertising. The secret is not funding. The secret is the supernatural, undeserved, free, sovereign grace of God. It is His grace that prepares the hearts of kids, families and volunteer leaders you will minister to. It is His grace that removes the obstacles that Satan has thrown in your path to prevent you from ministering. It is His grace that gives you the words to speak, places you where you need to be, and makes his or her heart receptive to the gospel. It is His grace that allows the seed of the Word to take root in the soil of a soul and bring forth fruit to everlasting life. It is His grace alone.
And the degree to which we recognize that and make ourselves available to be instruments of His grace, our ministry is guaranteed to be effective .... maybe not by man's standards... but man's standards will be of no consequence when we get to heaven. Conversely, the degree to which we set up a scenario for us or Klub or our small group or our events or our relationships to receive glory for winning souls or growing saints or doing anything else eternal, to that degree we frustrate the grace of God.
If God chooses to use KLIFE in the Kingdom, it is not because we are special. It is because God is special, and He can use anything- especially the weak things of this world to confound the mighty. Our prerequisite for greatness is not found in what we do or how great we are, but in how humbly we fall on our faces before God and ask for His amazing grace. He wants to win the lost more than we do. He wants to grow the saints more than we do. He wants to train the leaders more than we do.
If we would spend at least as much time on their knees, humbling themselves before God, as they do planning and training and organizing, God would come onstage and do wondrous things for His church. It's all of grace, Beloved. It's all of grace. Yes, we train. Yes, we study. Yes, we plan, but only as a means to an end. That end is to bring tools to lie at the feet of our God and ask Him to use them as He sees fit, and to remove them if they get in His way.
Small Groups are the heartbeat of our ministry and where we believe your student has the greatest opportunity for spiritual growth! Small groups exist to give students the opportunity to be known and loved by their peers and leaders through studying God's Word and having a lot of fun in the process.
Each small group is led by one or two KLIFE volunteers who have a heart for ministry and working with kids. Each volunteer has been through an interview process with a staff member, has received a background check, and has signed a commitment to follow Christ in their own life.
Small group meeting times will be determined by the leader of the group based on when everyone is able to meet. The groups are assembled according first to gender, then by groups of friends. Our hope is to bring groups of kids together to build accountability and Christ-centered relationships.
LIVE is a digital curriculum that gets kids into the Bible and the Bible into kids. LIVE crafted lessons are easily understood, with principles that our leaders can grasp and pass along to students. Plus, the lessons emphasize discussion, dialogue, and meaningful connections among the group. This allows leaders and students to just enjoy spending time with one another and each will thrive with this curriculum.
Each KLIFE Small Group may use the interactive LIVE Curriculum to help each group be effective and focused. Your KLIFE Staff Director will set you and your group up into the system.
